VMware Technical Specifications
We offer clients three VMware pools with different specifications. All pools are located in St. Petersburg in our Dubrovka 3 and Tsvetochnaya 2 data centers.
All pool hosts are built on Intel Xeon Gold 6140 2.3 GHz processors and Intel P-series SSDs. Hybrid disk pools also utilize HGST Enterprise SATA HDDs.
Intel Xeon Gold 6140 processors are part of the new Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors family, have a six-channel memory controller, 24.75 MB L3 cache and 2.3 GHz base frequency, which can be increased to 3.70 GHz in Turbo mode.
Intel P-series NVMe solid state drives are the latest from the Intel SSD Data Center Family and provide the highest performance and reliability to date.
All virtualization hosts are built on Intel platforms.
The network infrastructure is built on hardware by Juniper and Brocade.
VMware vSAN software defined storage is used for storing virtual disks and catalogs. 3 pools are available:
- disaster recovery pool at the storage level (Stretched vSAN)
- high-speed disk pool (NVMe AllFlash)
- hybrid disk pool (NVMe SSD and Enterprise HDD)
Network virtualization is implemented with VMware NSX. NSX lets you flexibly configure local and public networks with a firewall and load balancer, as well as create virtual private networks (VPN).
Software and versions used:
- ESXi hypervisor - 6.5.0
- vSphere - 6.5.0
